Bodegas San Alejandro

It was founded in 1962 in Miedes de Aragón (Zaragoza), in a privileged setting for the cultivation of the vine, by the altitude of the vineyards, the rigour of the climate, the slow ripening of the grapes, the diversity of its soils and a long etcetera of singularities that comprise its terroir.

Named in honor to San Alejandro, whose remains are in the Franciscan convent from the 17th century of mudejar style Miedes.

Since its birth Bodegas San Alejandro has always been a constant modernization and innovative Winery.

In its firm commitment to wine tourism has space Baltasar, a space where learn, discover, learn, experience and taste the wine at its finest. A space conceived and designed so that all those who visit them always live unforgettable experiences with wine as the protagonist.

Location

Bodegas San Alejandro in inside of D.O. Calatayud.

Soils

Soils on slope, very poor in nutrients and with little access to water regulate naturally their productions of very low yields.

Vineyards

Vineyards located between the highest in Spain between 700 and 1100 m above sea level with natural conditions of absolute privilege.

For Bodegas San Alejandro care and respect for the environment is an attitude that is reflected in all areas of its activity.

They perform a rigorous control that starts in the vineyard and continues in the winery grape reception.

Grapes

The Garnacha is the main protagonist of its wines, it represents 70% of the surface of their vineyards, together with the Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet sauvignon in reds, and the Macabeo in whites. Also known as Grenache in France and America. It is said to be native to the Valley of the Ebro.

Its contribution of body, fruitiness, ripe fruit and meaty flavor allows the development of varietal wines, especially from old vines, which are surprisingly high concentration and complexity and that serve as an ideal complement for coupages very balanced.

Wines

They are committed to making wines of quality and uniqueness through a modern and efficient business management with respect to tradition and its origins.
