Bet Lustau Wineries to combine tradition and innovation and the search for the highest quality in their wines have accompanied him since his modest beginnings.
From 1950 Lustau Bodegas became export Winery of his own wines of Jerez.
In the 70's the company continued its expansion. From the 1980s, and under the direction of Rafael Balao, became one of Jerez's most innovative companies. Balao sensed Lustau had to be at the forefront of quality. His ideas combine tradition and innovation made the way so today Lustau is identified with quality and prestige.
Today, Lustau Wineriesis part of the well-known company Luis Caballero, producer of liquors and spirits. This was a considerable financial backing and the possibility of development and expansion. The vineyards Montegilillo, Carrascal payment; and Las Cruces, chipiona, both in the area of the Jerez Superior, joined the heritage of Lustau.
In recent years Lustau has been awarded and recognized with many awards, emphasizing in 2011 as the "Best Spanish Winery" awarded in London by the International Wine and Spirit Competition. In 2012, as the Spanish Winery Award winning and seventh worldwide. In 2014 as the"best Winery of Jerez". In 2015 it has once again become the Spanish winery Award and eighth worldwide.
Bodegas Cathedral-style, high-ceilinged and immaculate albero floors that maintain stable temperature and humidity to thus favor the special micro-climate which the wines of Jerez.
Lustau is the only Winery that produces wines in the three cities of the framework: Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
Location
The main headquarters is located in Jerez de la Frontera. Bodegas Los Arcos complex, built in the 19th century, houses six wineries in breeding dating from different times.
Vineyard
3.000 hours of Sun annually receive the vineyards of Lustau Wineries, accompanied by a relatively high rainfall, with around 600 litres of annual average.
The landscape of the area is mainly composed of hills of limestone land of very white, known as "albariza". Their wealth is because this area was under the sea for thousands of years. To a lesser extent areas of muds and Sands appear in areas close to the coast.
