The signature wines of the Pagos de Matanegra Winery are revered by some lucky ones. In Pagos de Matanegra the maximum is demanded. Production is limited because they only make monovarietal wines with the best grapes from our old Tempranillo vines.

Pagos de Matanegra is a small winery that arises from the concern of three gang members who are passionate about wine. They have 20 ha of well-situated old vineyard, with which José Luis Escudero masterfully elaborates his scarce 5,000 boxes. His two partners, César and Miguel, help him drink the bottles while giving the project sanity.
It is difficult to find people like José Luis in the area who simply add a dose of good taste to their wines. Healthy and balanced vineyards, the result of an exhaustive monitoring of rainfall, analytical control of our soils, adaptation of field work to lunar cycles, analysis of hours of sunshine and water stress, make the wines of Pagos de Matanegra conserve in its interior a bit of that nature that we try to keep intact in all our wines.
"You will discover that times have changed, but that magic is magnified."
Freshness, friendliness and intensity are the concepts that summarize our idea of a MATANEGRA wine and that synthesize the multiple nuances that our vineyards offer us and that our oenology obtains.
