The philosophy of Bodega Javier Sanz Viticultor is based on the conservation of pre-phylloxera vineyards (over 150 years old), native varieties and the recovery of almost extinct varieties to produce great wines.
Five generations of winemakers who for more than 150 years have continued the tradition with the utmost respect for the land where their wines come from.
A meticulous and rigorous work in the field to get a grape of the best quality, true to the philosophy of Javier Sanz Viticultor: intervene as little as possible in the process of making their wines.
Climate
The strains are favored by three elements: the soil, the continental climate and the Verdejo grape (with great personality and optimum potential for winemaking).
Vineyard
The vineyards of Javier Sanz are distributed in a mosaic of plots, farms and payments, all belonging to the Valladolid municipality of La Seca.
Javier Sanz Viticultor has 104 hectares of vineyards owned, which allows to control all the development of the plants.
Tradition in viticulture, meticulous work in the field and own family vineyards.
The personality of a territory and a warehouse.
The treasure
Among these vineyards we find true treasures of viticulture such as the prefiloxeric vineyard of El Pago de Grasshopper.
