The Farina family enjoys the recognition of being one of the main architects of the development of the D.O. Toro. Continuous innovation aimed at production of quality, respect for the terroir, and the deep knowledge of the autochthonous variety, the TINTA DE TORO, have been cornerstones of its winemaking philosophy.
Founded in 1942, Farina is one of the oldest wineries in the region of Toro. Its founder, Salvador Farina, started its activity in a rudimentary wine cellar dug in calcareous soil in Casaseca de las Chanas, a small town in the province of Zamora, 30 kilometres from Toro, on the other side of the Douro River.
Farina's Winery is made up of a two-storey building with laminated wood ceilings, contains in its interior the breeding room. Attractive aesthetics and the strict control of temperature and moisture, allow Intuit Farina emphasis to the aging of the wines. Five metres of depth, more than 1,800 barrels of French and American oak, they enhanced the crianzas from much of its marked personality Farina. On the same floor, 16,000 litre French oak tubs are. each, to help achieve this goal. In them some elaborations malolactic fermentations are conducted and the coupages of more limited productions are completed.

More than 300 hectares of own vineyards allow Farina's Winery integrated production control and an optimal orientation of their preparations towards the quality and uniqueness of its wines.
Farina vineyards are located in different areas, with different microclimates and soil. This allows a better orientation of production towards the production of the different types of wine.
