In 2006 we created a small winery, Mas Blanch i Jové, in La Pobla De Cérvoles (Lleida) where they make quality wine under the DO Costers del Segre. The project was nevertheless born much earlier. Their grandparents were passionate farmers who taught us to love, labour and respect the land. They also taught them to enjoy wine. Full of Life.
From this stems our excitement at creating an inherently pure and powerful project.
Their vineyards are located in Les Garrigues, on the western border of the Priorat region, a mountainous area more than 700 meters above sea level. The uniqueness of the vineyards’ soil, the low rainfall, the ample sunshine and the significant temperature differentials between day and night allow us, following the thorough and meticulous labouring of the land, to obtain a product of exceptional quality.
This is their most important secret. The second being not to improvise.
Location
Their estates L'ESPORGADA, ELS LLINARS, EL PLA D’EN MAS, LA VINYA DELS ARTISTES, EL SENILL, MAS BLANCH AND ST. JOAN located in the town of La Pobla de Cérvoles, Lleida in the wine region of Costers del Segre. A mountainous ecosystem with strong Mediterranean influences neighbouring the Priorat and Monsant wine regions.
Wineyard
The soil, the origin of everything. The essense. Their beings stem from the soil, a principle that we have ever present. They cherish, they respect and they labour the soil in a meticulous and constant manner.
Our 15 hectares of vines are located 700 meters above sea level and the vineyard thrive from a combination of low rainfall. High temperature differentials between day-time and night-time, and ample sunshine.
