Gramona is a commitment to quality wines, with the utmost respect for the environment, for the land, for the climate, therefore, they use sustainable and biodynamic viticulture techniques, as well as animals in their field work.
The fifth generation of a family with a winemaking tradition. They believe that their greatest value is the experience and humility it provides. A commitment to the area, its lands in the Noia and Bitlles river basins, near Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, where it is possible to make a sparkling wine worthy of being at the table of the best in the world and, for this, they have a unique variety: Xarel·lo, the backbone of its sparkling wines.
During this fifth generation they have begun to produce still and sweet wines with the ambition to reflect our landscape and our terroir in them, and to please wine lovers. Faithful to a sustainable philosophy for their environment, they resort to organic farming and biodynamics in the cultivation of their vineyards.
"Wine is a melody, where the soil is the score, the plant, the instrument and the musician, the winegrower."
Location
Gramona is located in the Alt Penedés region, 30 km south of Barcelona. The climate is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and moderate winters. Escorted north by the majestic rocky mountain of Montserrat, our vineyards are protected during the harshest winters.
Soils
The soils are basically loamy-clayey and calcareous, occasionally alluvial, next to the Anoia river, and slate as we approach Montserrat. They are also characterized by the presence of têtes de poupées, calcareous agglomerations of bacterial origin, which mineralize, refresh and enrich the subsoil and, therefore, the vine.
Sustainable viticulture
In biodynamic agriculture, self-sufficiency is sought, so the role of a farm is fundamental to produce in it all the necessary elements, such as natural fertilizers, compost, biodynamic preparations, and medicinal plants.
