Color and Appearance:	High robe wine. Intense ruby red color with tile glints acquired in its aging.
Nose / Aroma:	In the olfactory phase it is very mineral, with hints of graphite, humus, black stones and freshly tilled earth, these mineral aromas are finely intertwined with spicy, balsamic and floral notes such as violet.
Mouth / Flavors:	In the mouth it is a very balanced wine, combining power and elegance with a firm tannic load in the center of the mouth, without concentrations or aggressiveness.
Tasting notes:	The aftertaste is wide and harmonious, returning again the smoked and toasted notes acquired by its passage in the barrel.

Enrique Mendoza initially bet on foreign varieties, but his roots in the territory have made a stop at the native Monastrell variety.

In Alicante it was the Iberians who began to cultivate the vine. Currently our work is simpler, to intervene in the vineyard in a minimal way so that it lives other centuries more.

The vineyards are part of the environment and the landscape that surrounds them. At Bodegas Enrique Mendoza, our challenge is to make wines in such a way that you can recognize their sun, their light, their Mediterranean character and their humanity.

With the right attitude, experience and equipment, this trip is turning out to be more appealing to them than it seemed.

Climate and soil

In the province of Alicante, the influence of the Mediterranean Sea is very characteristic, whose sea breezes circulate through the mountainous corridors that have created the Carrascal de la Font Roja Natural Park and the Protected Landscape of the Sierra del Maigmó that provide greater freshness to the leaf surface.

In the province there are two areas with very different climates and soils: The Mediterranean coast whose sea breezes exert a great influence on the vineyards of coastal municipalities. And another inland area in the Alto Vinalopó region, with altitudes of more than 600 meters above sea level, where the sea breezes also arrive with great influence through the natural mountainous corridors. In this area of Alicante pre-plateau we find adult vineyards in soils with a high presence of calcareous edges, crust, stones and sand.
