It is located in the municipality of Caravaca de La Cruz, one of the five holy cities in the world and is home to the unique cross that bears its name.
The vineyards are located within the Bullas Designation of Origin. A land whose relationship with wine is ancient, presenting finds that are more than 2,600 years old. Monastrell is the native variety and therefore the majority in this Denomination.
The vineyards of Bodegas Saura are located on small terraced plots that flow through the Sierra de las Cabras. A completely natural area surrounded by Mediterranean fauna and vegetation in its wildest state.
The farm consists of about 500 hectares of mountains, swayed by the northwest winds, whose orientation is the predominant one. The vineyards wind on terraces hidden in small clearings in the mountains, surrounded by nature, and whose access is only possible by jeep or horseback.
The vineyards of Bodegas Saura are distributed in a unique enclave, home to numerous species such as the Arrui, the Montesa Goat, Wild Boar, Vultures, Eagle and Eagle Owl. Along the intricate paths that lead from one wall to another, it is possible to briefly encounter these species, unique spectators of the future of the vineyards.
Bodegas Saura carries out a maintenance and care project for these species and their habitat, as part of the most intimate philosophy of the project.
These vineyards and their fruits would not be understood without all that untamed nature that surrounds them.
