The centennial work of the land and the natural evolution of a family dedicated to the cultivation of the vineyard, leads to the Miguel Blanco saga in 1991, at the beginning of his personal project: the transformation of the fruit of his own vineyards into wines of marked personality.
The passage of time and the incorporation of their children Arturo and Kike (from whose acronym the name of the winery is born), give Bodegas Artuke a more personal character if possible. They are now in charge of transmitting to their wines the essence of «Vigneron» that their parents started.
In their wines they look for the typicality and exclusivity through the fundamental base: the land, the place where they come from, to reflect a unique character.
"We have made our passion, our work, we firmly believe in the elaboration from the terroir, and for that we know and work it, it is the simplest way to obtain wines rooted to the earth and with a marked personality".
Localition
Bodegas Artuke is located in Baños de Ebro, in the Rioja Alavesa.
Soil and climate
The climatic differences of altitude and types of soil between them, enrich and provide a differentiating nuance to each wine, reinforced by a system of planting in a glass and by a manual harvest of the fruit and in small containers.
Vineyard
22 hectares of own vineyard divided into 32 plots between the towns of Baños de Ebro and Ábalos, make Bodegas Artuke one of the smallest and most cared for in the area.
In Artuke they carry out a respectful viticulture with the environment, applying biodynamic guidelines to achieve the greatest expression of the terroir.
During the last years, the goal of Bodegas Artuke has been and is the search and recovery of abandoned vineyards and soils with character.
