In the III century BC the region of La Rioja was inhabited by the Berones, a warrior people of Celtic origin, whose villages stretched from the Sierra de Cantabria in the north to the Sierra de la Demanda in the south. This warrior people, but also dedicated to agriculture, livestock, pottery and metallurgy, called their land Beronia.
In 1973 a group of businessmen and friends of a Gastronomic Society founded Beronia Wineries in DOCa Rioja, whose name pays homage to the original inhabitants of this beautiful land. The passion for good food and high quality wines was the origin of the prestigious red wines of long aging that the winery produces.
