Roqueta family is the history of a family of winegrowers. The origins of our winemaking activity date back to the 12th century - specifically to the year 1,199-, and are linked to the history of the Bages region (Barcelona), where the cultivation of the vineyard has developed since Roman times. The oldest documents that are preserved, confirm that in the year 1,199 wine was already produced in the Masía Roqueta - located in Santa Maria d 'Horta d' Avinyó-, which preserves vestiges of more than eight centuries dedicated to the production of wine: presses , stone deposits, wineries, ...
At the end of the 19th century, Ramon Roqueta Torrentó laid the foundations for this activity to acquire business dimensions when in 1898 he moved to Manresa -the capital of the Bages region- and founded Ramon Roqueta (D.O. Catalunya), the first family winery. Later on, Abadal (DO Pla de Bages), in 1983, and LaFou Celler (DO Terra Alta), in 2007 were founded. Today, the central headquarters of Roqueta Origen is located in Santa Maria d 'Horta d' Avinyó , around the old family farmhouse.
They are generations of love for wine and exclusive dedication to the winemaking task that survive with enthusiasm in the present generations, working with the will to express the identity of each of our wineries and the territories we work with.
